• It’s designed and built to suit industrial applications. This means it can manage the water supply for a large home or increase the pressure of the water coming from the mains well. This is dependent on the model, as there are several different models in the CM Booster range.
• It’s quiet, clocking in at just 55 db, which is comparable to the noise of a dishwasher running. It won’t make a lot of noise that could disturb you, your family, or your neighbours.
• It’s easy to install. Just connect the pump to your pipes, get the pump primed, plug it into an outlet, and it’s ready to start pumping.
• It’s built to last. The pump is made from heavy-duty cast iron and stainless steel parts, so it’s really sturdy and durable.
• The pump comes with a Grundfos PM1 Pressure Controller.

The PM1 takes the guesswork out of managing your pump. It automatically turns the pump on when you open a tap and shuts it off when you’re done. The PM1 also comes with basic safety features that protect your pump from running when no water is detected (run dry protection). They also have a built in non-return valve.

One thing to keep in mind with the Grundfos CM Booster range is that they cannot lift water from below where the pump is installed, they will only pump if the water source is above the pump or is level with the tank on ground level. The Grundfos CM Booster SP or the Grundfos JP range are appropriate for that application, as they can suck water up to them (please check them out for specifics).

Pump Curve of the different models:

How does a pump performance curve help me? Here is a simplified explanation:

A pump curve shows you what a pump is capable of – how much water it can move (flow) and how high it can lift it (pressure). The horizontal line on the chart is for the water flow, and the vertical line is for how high the pump can push the water. But remember, the pump’s job gets tougher if it needs to push water up high or through filters, fittings and pipework that create friction or drag. This ‘eats up’ some of the capacity, meaning the actual outcome at your tap could be different. The pump curve can be your initial starting guide to finding a pump that’s strong enough to give you the right water pressure and flow, after all these factors come into play.
